05/23/12
Dear Nok Auto Repairs,

From all my respect, I tank you to be great mentors. I learn a great deal, things that I’m sure will help me in the future. I didn’t know anything about mechanic before I started internship. And it was better than I through. Even when is frustrating not know the names of the tools. All of you are great teacher, for share your experience with me, that allows interns to fallow your steps, not only in choose a career but also for life. I’m sure was really difficult for you to work and teach me at the same time. I really admire the way everybody handle problems. I feel like I’m in home because everybody have a sense of humor, It really help with stress. I believe that your career is important in the community. They need us!

Everybody thinks mechanics are not organized. I discover that is not true. I learn that we need to be organized for find the tools every time we will use them.  I am tankful that every time I ask question, they always respond my question. Danny even tells me to disturb them, even if they busy. I lean so many skills, but the most important is not to be afraid to use or touch tools and cars. I was afraid of break something in someone else car, but again Danny help me, Because He says that if someone break some part of the car, we will together fixed. I learn so many things to check the oil to check the memory of the car. I learn to visualize the cars because every time we take something out of a car, we should put it back again. Small things like holding the light and watching the traffic, even when sometimes was little things, I think it was really helpful. I really appreciated when Danny help me whit my homework of internship, learn a lot of definitions must be difficult, even more because we are international people.

I really appreciate the opportunity you given me to be an intern in Nok Auto Repairs. Having the chance to interact with people that have different culture. I am amazed by the way that we did work. Recall my self back; I notice that I being learn so much. I am proud at interning at your side. Thanks god I didn’t break anything! I wish you a good luck on everything. Dream a lot and face life whit a smile. I wont miss you, because I know if I have question I can back? Take care.

Sincerely,

Silvia Domingo

I really like this place, sometimes the spray smell really bad and is like kind of time to relax because 4 hours in internship is a lot. Is the place were they put more cars. We also work a lot in group. At fist I was scary to break someone else car. But my mentors tell me that if we break something we will fix it together.

The parts that dosent work we put them in a box. Some people pay for that metallic, we divide the money in to six people and everybody gets $15.

I like to help whit fix breaks sometimes is easy, there are so many types of breaks, but the small ones are really cute. The break has to be flat, if has line on it, means that you have to changed.  I like to use a lot of tools and for change breaks you need a lot and be strong; the tide is really heavy when it has all the parts, we have to take it out and put it back. In my internship we have to visualize, because if your changing something you have to put the parts in the same way, the parts can’t be different than the anterior.

I like to press the break, we need to press it for watch if the lights are good. But it feels like I'm driving I don’t like to watch the lights because every light has a name, and I always forget the names. Also my first day I make my mentor change the light that was working and not the one that didn’t work, sometimes is difficult to change the lights, you need a lot of muzzles, and I burn my hand helping changing the lights the fist day.

The worst part of my internship is learning a lot of vocabulary you need to know the name of all tools, because they say, “can you pass me this actron auto scanner?” “Go to the coasts tire changer, and change the tire?” If you don’t know the names it would be a little difficult to learn and help in fixing car or touch the cars. Mechanic lean touching and visualizing, so you don’t help fixing is boring.
